Tony Karr over at Elearninglearning posted his new list of best e-learning sources and I am beginning to think Tony must be telepathic! His list includes links to screencasting and videos which is still what I need! (Thanks Tony!)

I haven’t had time today to go through his list and comment on the links – it’s been a computer gremlin-hectic kinda day. But I’ll try to do it tomorrow and add my comments again

Tony has a great range of links there (and I’m not saying that just because Dave’s Whiteboard is included).
I can’t be sure, but your post may be the first link I’ve had from Africa, so I’m feeling very trans-continental.
As a librarian you probably already know that September brings Banned Books Week.

Dave, I’m glad I’m the first African link. 🙂 And I’ve already added Dave’s Whiteboard to my feeds list.
I’ve only recently discovered Tony’s website, but it’s a goldmine for my section regarding links. It’s almost like he knows exactly what websites I need!
I know Banned Books Week is quite big in the USA (in Sept most of my library feeds seem to mention it more than once but you guys seem to ban the weirdest books, Harry Potter?), but I don’t think in SA we’re as big on this … I’m a bit young (30), but I know during Apartheid the government banned quite a few books, most were political or sexual in nature. (They also banned quite a few music albums and films)
The only one that I can remember being banned was Madonna’s Sex and I “think” we’re unbanned it now. Looking back at that period in my country’s history I’m really puzzled that the government made such a huge fuss over the books – but then I have to remember that “free speech” was not something the SA gov subscribed to and exercising your right to free speech could wind you up in jail for life or even worse.
By the time I entered high school 1994 was already upon us and since then I don’t think we’ve banned books with as much enthusiasm!
